Exhaust air system forend double window .
Exhaust air system for small French double windows, 106 - 124 cm window height.
The forend is part of the sash. When both sashes are opened, the entire window area is open. French casement windows are possible with a maximum of 2 sashes, as the sashes have to open against each other.
How do I recognize whether I have a double mullion window?
One side of the window is fixed and can only be opened fully when the tilting side of the window is fully open and you open a latch on the inside of the window frame. Sometimes there are also two window opening handles, but you cannot open the fixed side until the tilting side is fully open. In addition, the gap between the two window sashes in the middle is very narrow, approx. 3 to 10 mm.
The exhaust air hose is hung on the side with the pre-assembled adapter in the side panel. It can be hung up again at any time, e.g. if both windows are to be opened completely or if air extraction is not desired.
The exhaust air system consists of the two side panels with the associated threaded rods for bracing the system, a 2-part panel for the upper window cover, the plastic adapter for exhaust air hoses Ø 150mm, all necessary screws, sealing brushes for gluing and tools. Each set is complete for one window.
Structure (schematic):
First, the side panels are mounted according to the assembly instructions. They are firmly clamped between the window sill and the window lintel using the threaded rods you have pre-assembled. No gluing or drilling is necessary. The firm hold is provided exclusively by the clamp.
The two halves of the upper grille can be precisely adjusted to the width of the window by sliding them into each other and are screwed tight with the screws provided.
Now stick the sealing brushes on the hinge side and above the window.
Fasten the plastic adapter to your exhaust hose, hang it in the side panel, done.
The exhaust air system can remain installed all year round. The assembly and disassembly effort is low.
